The Annapurna region is a must for all trekkers and hikers.
Easy Access: Take a 40 mn plane from Kathmandu to Pokhara or a 7 hour drive.
The Annapurna is the first 8000m summit to have been successfully climbed, the majestic summit can be seen from every itinerary in the region.
There is a wide variety of landscapes. Terraced rice fields, deep gorges, mineral landscapes of ocre colours along the Kali Gandaki and on the descent from the Thorong La pass.
Be as close as you can to Nepal’s breathtaking mountains, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri’s glacier, the icy blue Niligiris and the Machhapuchhare.
The region’s lowlands are inhabited by various ethnic groups : Gurungs, Chettris and Brahmans. Manangis and Mustangis live towards the North, where as the Thakalis live along the Kali Gandaki.
With this large variety of ethnic groups comes a variety of architecture, mud houses with thatched roof, stone houses and the lovely Thakali homes.
In Spring you will hike through giant rhododendrons forest in bloom.
