Expectation Peaks

Expedition Peaks are for experienced mountaineers and include both unclimbed peaks and those ascended only via their normal routes. These peaks are not listed under Trekking Peaks and do not include those in the west or mid-west regions of Nepal.

Permits and Regulations

Permits are managed by the Ministry of Tourism in Nepal. You can consult the Ministry for the list of peaks and permit fees:

Formulas

  • All-inclusive Package: Includes all climbing equipment, personal gear, hyperbaric chamber, satellite phone, and full support from our Nepalese team at Base Camp and during the ascent.
  • Mixed Package: Includes partial climbing equipment (fixed ropes, snow stakes, and gear for the Nepalese guide and sherpas) along with support from the Nepalese team at BC and during the ascent.
  • Base Camp Only: With this option, you’ll only need our support at Base Camp. We provide tents for sleeping, dining, cooking, and toilets. Our team will transport your gear to Base Camp, where a cook and guide will stay to prepare meals and stay in touch with you and GST Kathmandu.

You must bring your own climbing gear, high-altitude tents, freeze-dried food, stoves, a satellite phone, and a hyperbaric chamber. We can help you rent or buy equipment in Kathmandu. Our Base Camp guide will maintain communication with GST Kathmandu for safety and manage any necessary administrative tasks, including prompt response in case of a rescue.

Additional Support for All Packages

GST will handle the permit applications before your arrival, assist with customs clearance for your freight, and accompany the expedition leader to the Ministry of Tourism upon arrival and return. We also provide equipment for the liaison officer as needed.

GST manages the refund of the “Garbage Fee” after the expedition. We ensure that our entire Nepalese team complies with the latest Nepalese legislation and is properly equipped at Base Camp (and during the ascent for All-Inclusive and Mixed packages).

Our team at Base Camp stays in close contact with you. In case of an emergency, we respond quickly and effectively. We provide direct advice to the guide or mountaineer and can connect them with doctors in Kathmandu or IFREMMONT, a mountain medicine center in Chamonix. We also have strong connections with embassies in Kathmandu, international clinics, and helicopter services.

We recommend completing SOS MAM training before departure to fully benefit from their services in the mountains.
