Mera Peak is in the Hinku valley, famous for its easy climb and its high altitude : 6476m.
However, the beauty of this summit is the extraordinary view it offers, all the way from its altitude camp to the summit. Five 8000m giants stand tall : Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Everest, Lhotse and the Cho Oyu.
The trek to the summit can start from Phaplu and the Hinku valley and return to Lukla. Or you can trek up the Khumbu (Everest) region, pass the Amphu lapsa the Mera La and finally the Mera Peak.

It was first conquered by Roberts and Sen Tsering in l953.
There are very few inhabitants from Lukla to Mera and to Pengboche, it is a wild trail.
Snow and ice, as technically demanding as the common route of the Mt.Blanc, though you are 2000m higher !
No particular technical requirements, hike with crampons on snowy slopes.
In case of ice, GST ‘s team will install a fix rope.
You need proper acclimatization, so we recommend to trek in the Annapurna region at least 11 days before the trek.
If you chose to pass by the Amphu Lapsa pass, the Sherpas will install a fixe drope.

Walking with crampons, roped up, using a fixed rope.
