Get ready for an exciting 16-day, 15-night trek to Everest Base camp via Cho La Pass. The prices start at just €1,838 with domestic flights included.
Your tour begins with a fast flight to Lukla, at 2,800 meters, where you’ll begin walking into the foothills of the world’s highest mountains. You can witness breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Hungchi, and neighboring peaks during your expedition.
The Everest region is surrounded by some of the highest peaks in the world. This exciting route provides a true loop through the Everest massif. It provides breathtaking views of 8,000m and 7,000m peaks that cannot be found on any other trek in the world.
We will start from Namche Bazaar, the capital of Khumbu, and head up to the beautiful Gokyo lakes and take in the panoramic views from Gokyo Ri at 5350m.
Leaving the regular trekking paths, we will make our way towards the Cho La Pass, a high mountain pass located at 5420 meters peak. This pass will take us to the Khumbu Valley, situated at the foot of Everest.
Our adventure continues with a climb up to Kala Pattar offering jaw-dropping views of Everest and its neighboring peaks. Taking an excursion to Everest Base Camp will be one of the highlights of the trip. It’s an incredible opportunity to see the base of the world’s highest mountain.
As we descend back through the Tengboche monastery, we’ll journey through lively Sherpa villagers and encounter majestic caravans and yaks.
Finally, you will return to Lukla, with memories of an epic adventure carved in your heart.
Besides trekking via Cho La pass, there are several alternatives to reach Everest Base Camp. One option is to take the ascent via the Renjo pass. Renjo pass is one of the most demanding and easiest passes to reach EBC compared to other passes.
After crossing Rrenjo Pass, you can descend to the Gokyo lakes and move through the Chola Pass at an altitude of 5420 meters. In approximately 18 days, you will reach Kala Pattar. Also, another option is a shorter 15-day trek to Kala Pattar and Everest Base Camp.

On the exciting trek to Everest Base Camp, we will travel from Kathmandu to Ramechhap by local bus or private vehicle. Once we arrive at Ramechhap, we’ll spend the night at a lodge.
To get to Lukla, we can take a flight from Ramechhap. Once we start the trek, we will come across a team of porters on our way. We are now in Sherpa country and have already encountered the first Buddhist monasteries in Chuplung.
Similarly, the trail will follow the Dudh Khosi River, passing through fields of barley and wheat. Our overnight stay will be in Phakding, which has a beautiful mountain hotel. The trek will take approximately about 4 hours of walking, with an ascent of 50m and a descent of 240m.
We will be walking from Phakding to Namche Bazar which is located at an altitude of 3440 meters. Our journey will involve climbing to Jorsale (2800m) along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing the river by a suspension bridge, and a very rapid descent of 600m to the Namche River.
Namche Bazar is a large sherpa town with many shops, post offices, banks, a small monastery, and a market for Tibetan and Chinese products that are brought on yaks via the Nang Pa La pass(5700m).
After traveling 6 hours on foot, with a climb of 930m and a descent of 100m, we will spend the night at a fine hotel in Namche Bazaar.
During the acclimatization period in the Sherpa capital Namche, we will take time to adjust to the altitude and immerse ourselves in the unique culture of the region.
On Saturday, we will have an opportunity to experience the bustling local market where Tibetan merchants come to trade passes by Nangpa La.
The journey will begin with a vertical climb of 1.5 hours to reach the beautiful village of Khumjung which is twinned with Khunde. From there we will be able to enjoy the stunning views of Mount Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse in the distance and Ama Dablam and Thamserkhu in the foreground.
During the hike, we will walk on the slopes of Khumbila, the holy mountain of the Sherpas. After passing Mong, we will descend in bends to Dudh Khosi and Phortse Tenga.
Similarly, the total working for the day will be approximately 5.5 hours of walking with a height increase of 455 meters and a height decrease of 220 meters.
On this day, our hike will take us through the stunning rhododendrons and pine forests, offering a picturesque and serene journey. Along the way, we will pass through summer camps of yak shepherds.
After reaching Dole, the path becomes more challenging with steeper inclines. We will spend 4 hours walking 765m upwards and 50m downwards.
We will begin our adventurous trek toward Gokyo from Luza. As we make our way along the river we will arrive at the beautiful village of Machhermo surrounded by the natural beauty of the Himalayas.
After reaching Machhero, our path takes us to ascend a ridge, providing us with expansive panoramas of the surrounding mountains and valleys. We will then descend carefully along the moraine of the Ngozuma Glacier, the longest glacier in the Himalayas.
After that, we will climb steeply to reach the first lake of Gokyo. The trial to the second and third lakes is almost flat. The total duration of the hike will be around 4 hours of walking ascending by 472 meters and descending by 112 meters.
As we continue our journey, we will make our way towards the village of Tanghna from Gokyo. This part of the trek will be a short day allowing us to prepare for our next adventure. We will descend along the glacier and cross the glacier to reach Tanghna. Our trek to Thagnak will take us around 2 hours of walking with an ascent of 125 meters and a descent of 175 meters.
Today, the trek continues to Dzongla from Tanghna. It takes around 4 hours to reach Cho la which is located at 5420m and provides a breathtaking view of Ama Dablam. However, this can be difficult to pass due to ice and rocks falling.
After reaching Cho La we will descend to the summer village of Dzongla which takes around 6 hours covering a height of 720m up and 590m down.
The journey will start with a descent of approximately 2 hours to reach the village of Dughla. From there we will embark on a fairly steep 3-hour climb to Lobuche along the Khumbu glacier.
Lobuche is the second last stop for the Everest base camp. In Lobuche, there are lots of snowcapped massive peaks and you can also view the Khumbu glacier.
During the climb, we will see the extraordinary view of the gigantic south face of Nuptse and the beautiful sunset view. The total walking time for the day will be around 6.5 hours, with an ascent of 375m and descent of 280m.
Our journey will take us from Lobuche to Kala Pattar. Kala Pattar is one of the highest altitudes and it is considered part of the Everest Base Camp (EBC) trekking route.
We will ascent to the summit of Kala Pattar for the closest possible view of Everest and the South Col. To reach this viewpoint, we must first trek to Gorak Shep to reach Kala Pattar. It is a 6-hour of hiking to reach the summit.
Once we reach the peak, we will have plenty of time to enjoy the breathtaking views and capture memories of this incredible excursion.
Gorak Shep is the final stop before reaching Everest Base camp. You can see the mesmerizing view of blue sky, snow, and white mountains. Finally, you will reach the Everest base camp at 5364 meters altitude. You can click beautiful pictures, and videos for memories.
It is the most popular trekking route in the world after being the base of the highest peak in the world.
It takes around 7 to 8 hours of walking covering an ascent of 224 meters and a descent of 454 meters. However, it is worth it after seeing the stunning views of Mount Everest as it is the closest you can reach around Mount Everest.
After reaching the EBC, we have to return to the Lobuche and stay there overnight.
Continue the descent from Lobuche to Tengboche, we will make our stop at the most important monastery of Khumbu. Khumbu is considered the world’s highest glacier which features a large icefall and basecamp.
You can get the most amazing view of Ama Dablam and you must walk for around 6 hours, ascending 1200 meters and descending 150 meters.
It was a long day to travel from Tengboche to Namche climbing along the glacier to Gorek Shep. We continued our ascent of the Kala Pattar 400-meter peak to get the closest possible view of Everest and the south pass.
After enjoying the breathtaking scenery, we descended to Dughla. Overall we walked for 8 hours, ascending 700 meters and descending 1005 meters.
On our journey back from Namche Bazar to Lukla, we will descend along the Dudh Khosi to Ghat and then ascend once again to reach Lukla.
This trekking route presents a blend of downhill and uphill challenges. The trek will take approximately 7 hours, with an ascent of 300 meters and descent of 940 descent.
After completing our epic 16-day trek to Everest Base Camp, it’s time to return to Kathmandu from Lukla. You can catch a flight from Lukla to Ramechhap where you will transfer to a connecting flight to Kathmandu.
During the flight, you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the majestic Himalayan mountains. Once you arrive in Kathmandu, you can easily transfer from the airport to your hotel.
