Expedition Peaks

These peaks are for experienced mountaineers. Some have never been climbed before, while others have only been ascended via the normal route.

These peaks include those permitted but not listed under Trekking Peaks and are not located in the west or mid-west regions.

Several formulas are possible:

  • All-inclusive: GST provides in addition to the Nepalese team at CB (Base Camp), guide and high-altitude sherpas for the ascent, all climbing equipment including your personal climbing gear, hyperbaric chamber, satellite phone.
  • Mixed: GST provides in addition to the Nepalese team at CB, guide and high-altitude sherpas for the ascent, but only part of the climbing equipment: fixed ropes, snow stakes, equipment of the Nepalese guide and sherpas.
  • Base Camp only: You have chosen the alpine style and only need our logistics at Base Camp. We will provide tents, mess tent, kitchen tent, toilet tent, tents for the CB. One team will transport your equipment to the CB, and a restricted team including a cook and a guide will stay at the CB to provide meals and be in contact with you and GST KTM during the ascent.
  • You bring all your climbing equipment, high-altitude tents, freeze-dried food and altitude stoves, satellite phone, hyperbaric chamber, etc. – we can help you rent or buy in KTM. Our guide at CB will remain in contact with GST in KTM for optimal security. GST also handles all administrative procedures and will be very responsive in case of mountain rescue.

For all three formulas:

  • GST applies for permits before your arrival, assists with customs clearance of your freight, accompanies the expedition leader to the Ministry of Tourism upon arrival and return, and equips the liaison officer when required.
  • GST handles the refund of the “Garbage Fee” upon expedition return.
  • GST ensures its entire Nepalese team according to the new Nepalese legislation, at base camp (and during the ascent for All-inclusive and Mixed formulas).
  • GST equips its Nepalese team at base camp (and for the ascent for All-inclusive and Mixed formulas).
  • GST stays in contact with you and the team at CB. In case of emergency in the field, our team’s response is immediate and effective. We advise the guide or mountaineer directly, connect them with a doctor in Kathmandu or with IFREMMONT, a mountain medicine center in Chamonix. We have privileged contacts with embassies in Kathmandu, international standard clinics, and helicopter companies.
