This circuit allows you to discover the essential sites of Mustang as well as remote villages in the north, and the beautiful landscapes of Kali Gandaki’s left riverbank.
From Jomsom up along the Kali Gandaki to Kagbeni a fortified village, the gateway to Mustang. Here we leave behind the classic Annapurna Tour trail to enter the protected sanctuary of the ancient Kingdom.
The mineral landscape is of ochre and brown colours. The villages are surrounded by an oasis of wheat and barley fields.
Excursion to the Chungsi cave and up along Drakmar’s crests.
Impressive remnants of troglodyte (cave dwellers) villages hanging to eroding cliffs.
Visit of Lo Gekar monastery.
Lo Manthang, 3800m, its imposing walls shelters the Royal Palace and numerous big monasteries. Stroll in Lo’s alleys, we are taken back to the middle ages, we are now travelling through time!
Excursion northwards to the Tibetan border into the Choser valley and to the Kacho Dzong.
From Lo to Dhi , crossing the Kali Gandaki to Yara.
Trekkers are rare on this side of the river.
Excursion to Lori, inside a natural cave a stupa was built surrounded by murals with beautiful patterns.
Trek to Tangye, followed by the stunning lady finger canyons before reaching Tetang and the Kali Gandaki river.
