A Himalayan trek like they should all be ! Good acclimatiazation with an excursion to the famous Bhutanese monastery Taktsang monastery, also known as the Flying Tiger's Nest

Rapid ascent to the yak pastures to the Chomolhari Base Camp.

Excursion in this magical land till the Tsophu lake. Meet the nomad shpeherds and their animals.

Uphill to a mountain pass for a panoramic view of the himalayan summits of the Tibetan border.

Descent through rhododendron forest to the East and pass by the ruins of the Barshing monastery.

Transfer to Thimphu and visit the main site of the city.

A challenging tour with great discoveries and encounters.

ITINERARY BREAKDOWN

Day 1 Flight from  Kathmandu to Paro.
Flight from Kathmandu to Paro and along the Himalayas ! Spectacular.Welcome at the airport by our bhutanese guide.Visit Kiuchu Lakhang Paro’s Dzog.
Day 2 The Flying Tiger’s nest !
Excursion to the famous Taktsang Hermitage.
Day 3 Trek from Paro to Shana, 2892m
Visit the ruined Drukgyel Dzong fort, begin the trek up along the river.
Day 4 Tangtakya, 3700m
Narrow  gorges and winding path along the river. Camp close by the sheepfolds.
Day 5 Chomolhari Base Camp,4100m
We are now hiking along yak pastures and the high altitude landscapes. Panoramic view of the snowy mountains including the Kitchu Drake. Mt.Chomolhari at  7326m stands just a little further from us.
Day 6 Excursion to the foothill of the Chomolhari, 4090m
Excursions and rest in this enchanted place.
Day 7 Lingshi Dzong, 4150m
Long ascent to the Nyele pass, 4880m. Meet the nomads and visit their tents made of yak wool !
Day 8 Shodu, 3963m
Ascent to the Yali pass, 4820m. View of the Chomolhari and the Tserim Kang.
Day 9 Barshong, 3720m
Enchanting waterfalls. Winding path ascending to the Barshong Dzong.
Day 10 Dolamkansho, 3290m
Easy downhil to the Descente Wang Chhu river.
Day 11 himphu
Ascent through the forest till a pass. Vehicle to Thimphu.
Day 12 Visit Thimphu and back to  Paro
Visit Changka Lakhang and the Art School of Timphu where small groups of studious people learn , schulture, molding, weaving and painting.
Visit the fort of Tashi Choe. One of the most important Dzong of the country.
Transfer to Paro.
Day 13 Flight along the Himalayas to Kathmandu.
