January to May and September to December
Hike from monastery to monastery in the Sherpa lands.
Solu, the southern part of the Everest region is known for its active buddhist culture and monasteries.
Junebesi’s valley is a refuge for the important buddhist 'lama' ( monk in Tibetan), Tulsi Rimpoche and is home to numerous monasteries. The buddhist teachings here are just as they were in ancient Tibetan times. Plenty of disciples have settled here to learn from this Rimpoche and his reincarnation.
Trek on an easy path through connifer forests and barley fields. When possible you can sleep in monasteries and share the life of a monk.
This itinerary will also offer you a good perspective on the farming lifestyle of the Sherpa people, far away from Khumbu's trails busy with trekkers and climbers.
