Who has not dreamt of discovering a himalayan valley protected from the modern world. The sacred Tsum valley is a Tibetan enclave in Nepali lands. To access the Tsum valley you must hike on a vertiginous but wide and well maintained trail along the Shiar Khola.
This trek will take you from the green valleys to the arid landscapes of the high altitudes of Nepal.
In a few days trek you will be at the foothill of the Ganesh Himal overlooking the region and the snowy summits.
Tsum is a sacred valley for Buddhsits, numerous reincarnations of Rimpoches have been born.
You will meet the Amchi, tibetan doctor who will let you know in on some of her secret plants.
|Day 1||From Katmandou (1300m) to Arughat|
|Day 2||From Arughat to Lapu Bensi|
|Day 3||From Lapu to Dhoban 1070m
Subtropical vegetation, banana trees, pineapple and hibiscus.
|Day 4||From Dhoban to Phillim 1570m|
|Day 5||From Phillim to Ripchet 2470m
Higher up the narrow gorges of the Burhi Gandaki, now a mountain torrent, and up along the Shyar Khola gorges.
|Day 6||From Ripchet to Chekam Paro 3031m
Up along a large path to the first village of higher Tsum.
|Day 7|| From Chekam to Nyle 3361m
We are now on a plateau amongst the snowy peaks of the Ganesh Himal. Visit the nun’s monastery , Rachen Gompa.
|Day 8||From Nyle to Mu gompa, 3700m and Lama gaon 3302m
Up to Mu Gompa . POssibility to climb up to 4000m above the monastery for an exceptional view ! Visit Milarepa’s cave in Lama Gaon.
|Day 9||From Lamagaon to Lungdang gompa 3200m
Up throuh a forest to Lungdang where nun’s live in peace amonst birds, mouflons and leopards !
|Day 10||From Lungdang to the Ganesh Himal base camp, 4000m, Rest Day
The hike to the Ganesh Himal Base Camp is not an easy one but you are defintely rewareded with the view. Some will prefer a day’s rest in the nun’s safe haven.
|Day 11||From Lungdang to Chumling, 2386m|
|Day 12||From Chumling to Lokpa
Crossing of the Shyar Khola and uphill to Lokpa.
|Day 13||From Lokpa to Deng, 1860m
Downhill to join the Manaslu circuit trail.
|Day 14||From Deng to Prok, 2380m
We leave the classic trail before Ghap and ascend to Prok.Nous quittons le sentier classique avant Ghap pour une montée raide vers Prok.
|Day 15|| From Prok to Lho (3180m)
We begin to see Manaslu and the HImal Chuli.
|Day 16||From Lho to Sama (3525m) by the Pungen Glacier (4000 m)
Excursion to Pungen , 4000m. Here we are surrounded by 8000m and 7000m summits, the HImal Chuli , North Peak, Ngadi Himal and Manaslu.The brave ones can trek to the monastery edified by Milarepa ; what a magical moment. Night in Samagaon, from where expeditions start for Manaslu.
|Day 17||From Sama to Samdo (3860m) by the Manaslu Base Camp.
The fittest ones can climb up to the Manaslu Base Camp at 4800m, steep ascent with an incredible view of the snowy summits. Meet with the villagers of Samdo with whom we have privileged contacts : Samdo Avenir
|Day 18||From Samdo to Dharamsala (4460m)|
|Day 19||From Dharamsala to Bimtang (3610 m) by the Larkya Pass 5060m

High altitude hike, glacial lake and snowy peaks.
|Day 20||From Bimtang to Darapani (1850m)
Trek overlooking the Dudh Khola till Dharapani. Here we join the classic Annapurna Circuit trail.
|Day 21||From Darapani to Besishar|
|Day 22||From Besisahar to Kathmandu by vehicle|
